Bafétimbi Gomis (Galatasaray)

The Turkish Super Lig clubs have routinely been some of the most active teams in the football transfer market. Special amount of attention has been given to the players upfront. Here are five of the best strikers the league has to offer. Consider them for your picks for the fantasy FootballCoin contest that starts this week. Who will finish as the Gol Kralı?

Bafétimbi Gomis (Galatasaray)

It was a fight for the championship that lasted until the very end of the season and involved four teams. Galatasaray won that fight. Gomis is their top striker, having netted an impressive 29 goals in 33 matches. That’s how he won the Gol Kralı trophy (“Goal King”) the competition’s top goalscorer award. And the Frenchman is the favorite to retain the honor in the new season.

Burak Yilmaz (Trabzonspor)

The former Galata forward returned last season to Turkey following his two year stint in the Chinese Super League. Only this time he signed for rivals Trabzonspor. His side finished fifth, with Yilmaz’s performances vital for the team’s chances. Yilmaz scored 23 goals in 25 matches. If injury free, the striker could be a sound pick for the entire season.

Emmanuel Adebayor (Istanbul Basaksehir)

Another one of Super Lig’s international famous players, Adebayor helped Istanbul Basaksehir to a top three finish. In fact the little team from Instanbul maintained their chances of winning until the last day of the competition, finishing merely three points behind Galatasaray. The former Real Madrid forward scored 15 times last season and is looking to improve on his record.

Adis Jahovic (Konyaspor)

To many fans’ surprise, Jahovic finished the season on many Team of the season lists in Turkey. But the Macedonian likely enjoyed the best season of his career scoring 14 times and earning himself a transfer to Konyaspor. Expect him to start for his new club and to try and repeat the good performances of last season.

Vágner Love (Besiktas)

Playing for lowly side Alanyaspor never seemed likely to last. The Brazilian forward joined one of Turkey’s biggest sides, Besiktas, in the middle of last season, scoring three goals for his new team. Vágner Love was the league’s top goalscorer in 2016 and there is naturally a good deal of excitement for his first full season at Besiktas.
