Fantasy Football Premier League should be giving you headaches and turning you into one of those people who write stats on their arm and recite them while on the subway. Rarely, in recent memory, has there been a smaller difference in points in the standings. And, very rarely, have managers gone from winning streaks to nearly getting the sack.
So, how are you going to make sense of it all? Who deserves to be on your fantasy football team for Round 13, and which top players should be given the boot?
I’m here to try and help. I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself an expert, but I’ve been drawing the stats on anything I could find for the last week. Here are the players you need.
If you’re looking to get paid for your knowledge of the game, there’s frankly no better way than in free, weekly FootballCoin contests. Here’s your invite link for the EPL one, but most other top leagues are represented.
These Are the Players You Need for Premier League Fantasy Football for Round 13!
I never thought I’d see the day. But Manchester City is a yo-yo team. Just what City are we going to get against Leeds at the weekend? Probably the one who scores and manages to keep a clean sheet.
That means that Gigi Donnarumma should get a nod from you, as well as Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku. And, if you’re looking for a budget pick, Nicolas Gonzalez and Nico O’Reilly, both likely to play, should be perfect.
There are murmurs that time may be running out for Thomas Frank as manager of Tottenham. But before any of that happens, we might still get to see some direct, attacking football from both Spurs and Fulham.
I think Mohamed Kudus will get the creative freedom he deserves here. Micky van de Ven is always a good pick. Meanwhile, Sander Berge and Joachim Anderson have racked up points in fantasy football all season.
I don’t usually buy into a narrative created by the media to make more people watch football games. But, okay, have it your way. Estevao did out-Yamaled FC Barcelona’s corresponding wonderkid. Meanwhile, Arsenal convincingly dismantled a Bayern Munchen side who appeared powerless to resist. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about this London derby.
But who do you need on your team? Start with the basics. Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze are mighty good picks if you can afford the cards. Myles Lewis-Skelly is a great, affordable pick, provided he is rewarded with a start.
Meanwhile, Reece James did great in an unfamiliar defensive midfielder role against Barcelona. And Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo are consistent performers. Still, if you’re looking for a bit of flair, why not give Estevao a try? His card, after all, is free to pick in FootballCoin.
Finally, Morgan Rogers is back in form and should get a few chances to get on the scoresheet against woeful-looking Wolves. Picking him is a sensible choice.
The Players You Need to Avoid in Round 13!
Not convinced by Spurs’ strikers. Richarlison and Xavi Simons aren’t starting 11 material in my book. Also, watch out for Cristian Romero missing the Fulham game.
I am also not convinced yet by Rayan Cherki’s performances for City. He should get opportunities against Leeds, but there might be better options out there.
