Uruguay flag - World Cup preview

Uruguay started their World Cup journey well enough. The South Americans won the very first two competitions they entered. Those are fabled successes. Uruguay has not come close to repeating those, but in recent years the team has certainly improved in leaps and bounds.

Uruguay have a lot of reasons to look forward to this summer’s World Cup. Their squad has remained very strong, with good options for each position.

Cavani, Suarez, Godin have all played a big part in the achievement of the famous European clubs that they play for. Uruguay will certainly be one of the teams to watch out for.

The first knockout round will likely see them face either Spain or Portugal. However, Uruguay are not a team to be underestimated. And should all their players rise up to the occasion, they could offer some big surprises in the competition.
