The international break has proven an interesting stopgap in the new Premier League season. Notable transfers have been confirmed. Important players may risk missing Gameweek 4 because of Covid-related sanctions. And, teams have to, once again, find their pace. With that in mind, here are our tips ahead of the return of the EPL.

Matt Ritchie and Lucas Digne flying below the radar

Fantasy football is all about noticing the stats that some of your rival managers have missed. Newcastle’s Matt Ritchie has been performing excellently over the past three games. Only Trent-Alexander Arnold has provided more key attacking passes. Against Manchester United, Richie’s passing game will need to be clinical in order for Steve Bruce’s men to manage something out of this game.

Lucas Digne, also, has impressed although praises have not been heaped on the talented wing-back. Under Rafa Benitez’s guidance, the Frenchman has found a new focus. Digne is the third-best crosser of the ball in the EPL and Toffees could continue their streak as they meet Graham Potter’s Brighton.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back and will be looking to make his United teammates look good

Of course, all eyes will be cast on Cristiano Ronaldo as he makes a return to the Premier League. The Portugal international has been in fine form lately. Against Newcastle, if given the opportunity, we can expect the veteran forward to try and make the best of the opportunity.

Furthermore, Ronaldo’s ambition and skill could help his new United teammates. Mason Greenwood, in particular, has been on a great run, and paying alongside CR7 could only help the youngster reach new heights. Bruno Fernandes’ performances could also take a boost now that he is playing alongside his Portugal teammate.

Adama Traore finally coming good

Traore is, without a doubt, one of the most talented players in the EPL. He is, for fantasy managers in particular, also, a frustrating squad member choice given his lack of consistency. This season, the former Barcelona player has registered 4 shots on goal per 90 minutes on average and continues to be one of the best dribblers in the league. Considering Wolverhampton’s technically comfortable fixture against Watford, we expect Adama Traore to continue his ascendency.
