Liverpool’s 2-5 loss at Anfield to Real Madrid has confirmed what many Socuser fans have feared for a long time—Jurgen Klopp’s players at no longer in a position to challenge against football’s very best.

Is recruitment an issue? While certainly not the sole one, Liverpool’s transfers are indeed one of the sore points.

Once a Moneyball standard followed by most Premier League clubs, the Reds have been overspending without getting the desired results.

Today we look at some of the players that could change all of this. Here are players that are on Liverpool’s transfer radar.

These deals shouldn’t be enough to bust the bank. And they could even help save Jurgen Klopp’s miserable 2022/23 season.

Rumored Liverpool transfers

N’Golo Kante

Kante’s ability as a holding midfielder has long been lauded. His triumphs for France and Chelsea are clear proof of his abilities.

But the player that Thomas Tuchel once called “the key figure of any team he plays for” has recently been on a downward spiral.

A change might do everyone involved a lot of good.

Reports suggest that Kante could sign for Liverpool on a free deal at the end of the season.

The Frenchman could offer the defensive cover that has been sorely lacking in recent months and, technically, could fit into Klopp’s tactical plans right away.

Jude Bellingham

It’s no secret that Klopp has prioritized Bellingham’s transfer above any other. It’s no secret either that the Borussia Dortmund midfielder is being monitored by many of the world’s best clubs.

After all, Jude Bellingham has just become the youngest player to reach 50 Bundesliga appearances. He is also becoming a vital part of England’s national team.

Finally, Bellingham’s dynamism and ability to play several roles would lessen the headaches of any top manager having the good fortune of working with him.

While the player has reportedly expressed some interest in Liverpool, the club must present a very attractive offer to make the deal possible.

Mattheus Nunes

The Portuguese international is another player that Klopp’s scouts are monitoring.

Nunes is already developing into an important player for Wolverhampton, having made 20 appearances in the EPL at the time of writing.

The Portuguese youngster is a quick, highly technical central midfielder that fills the profile required to play in Jurgen Klopp’s system.

Yes, this would appear to be a classic Liverpool transfer. The clubs are likely to negotiate this at the end of the season.

Wolves’ precarious position in the Premier League could well work in Liverpool’s favor.

Mason Mount

Several outlets have reported Liverpool’s interest in Mason Mount. On paper, this appears to be an outrageous transfer story.

However, Mount, one of England’s finest young footballers, is said to have grown disenchanted with Graham Potter‘s spell as The Blues manager.

Mason Mount, according to reports, has not expressed much interest in signing a new contract with the London side. This could push the two EPL clubs into a negotiation.

Mount’s transfer is evaluated to be worth over $75 million under normal conditions.

If the deal were to go through, Jurgen Klopp could depend on one of the EPL’s most promising attacking midfielders at his disposal. Mount could collaborate excellently with players like Mohamed Salah or Darwin Nunez.

Klopp needs to look to the future

The form of all football teams, great and small, is bound to vary over a long time. Jurgen Klopp has achieved incredible success at Anfield with a core group of players.

Changes are now needed. These proposed Liverpool transfers could do enough to protect the club’s win rate.
