Slovenia is one of the minnows of the tournament. But that suits the team just fine. This may just be the opportunity needed to keep some teams napping.

While the nation only qualified for the Euros once, Slovenia played great during the qualifiers. They won seven games then and will be looking to take that confidence and try and produce something, especially against Serbia and Denmark.

Slovenia is a team that takes its chances. They conceded only 9 goals in their 10 qualifying games. The team scored 20 goals. Slovenia finished 2nd, even on points with Denmark, but with slightly better stats.

There’s no outstanding star here and no single strategy that they use out of nearly always opting for a 4-4-2 formation.

Still, with Benjamin Sesko, they have a dependable young striker. The 20-year-old scored 5 goals during this qualification stage.

Jan Oblak has performed to a high level, although this is to be expected. He has a save percentage of 76.9% in the eight matches he has played.

Oblak, Sesko, and Andraz Sporar can be considered for your fantasy football team.

Preview

Denmark is among the neutral’s favorites, and it’s easy to see why. In recent tournaments, they dealt as a team with the near tragedy of Christian Eriksen. They played attacking football and punched above their weight. And they have mostly the same group of players for a few years now.

Sure, Denmark also has quite a history at the Euros. Their victory in Euro 1992 remains the nation’s greatest footballing honor.

They’re well-rated, albeit, perhaps, a bit jaded. And, they have a great upgrade in attack in Rasmus Højlund. There’s nor eason why they shouldn’t do well.

Rasmus Højlund has been in great form whenever he puts on a Danish shirt. He has recorded a colossal level of sorts on goal in the qualification stage and a healthy number of goals.

Denmark tends to score a lot. Eriksen, Delaney, or Maehle are quite attack-minded and should be considered for your side. Schmeichel tends to concede as much as keep out in these kinds of tournaments.

Preview

Serbia is always a nation that produces strong teams in just about any sport. When it comes to football, it is rare for the Serbs not to have a few near superstars knocking about.

What they rarely do well, however, is: A. Grind up results if needed and B. Have a balanced side to depend on.

The latter seems to go hold true for Eur0 2024. The Serbs have some truly extraordinary strikers and attacking midfielders but are less impressive attacking-wise.

That will likely come into play, but Serbia is rarely not entertaining when it comes to these kinds of tournaments.

Serbia, even when it was part of Yugoslavia, always played highly entertaining football in these kinds of tournaments. They tended to score many goals. And, when they did lose, they did so in matches filled with goals.

Serbia was the only team that scored in every qualifying game. Judging by that, take note of players like Vlahovic or Mitrovic to score a few. Also, consider Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Dusan Tadic for your midfield line.

Rarely has England had more superstar players in their European tournament squad. Rarely has the nation been more optimistic about the football team’s chances to win the tournament.

But it’s not all good news. England has to contend with a number of injuries, the lack of a natural central defense pairing, and some recent shakey performances.

England is among the natural favorites to win the tournament outright, but teams like Serbia could exploit their defensive weaknesses.
