These Are the Players You Need for Europa League Fantasy Football Semifinals First Leg

Nottingham Forest vs. Aston Villa

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa were both among the favourites to win the UEFA League Cup outright. So far, so good. Both teams have lived up to their reputation. Both have showcased the strength of Premier League transfer budgets.

Forest is nearly safe from relegation to the Championship. Aston Villa is almost qualified for the next season’s UCL. Both these things are vital. This is what guarantees a strong game tonight.

Forest is the outsider. Vitor Pereira will rely heavily on his defenders, especially Milenkovic, Williams and Aina. You should do the same.

Sangare, Anderson and Hutchinson have the potential to disturb Villa’s creative push.

Gibbs-White is a must-pick, if you’re lucky to be able to get him. All of Forest’s attacking plays run through him.

Meanwhile, Jesus has shown traces of brilliance. Although more experienced strikers will be available, the Brazilian should get a nod on your team.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery‘s side faces this game with one of the best attacking lines in all of Europe. Rogers, Buendia and Watkins won’t all score. One of them, though, will. There aren’t three better forwards available in UEL fantasy football right now.

McGinn and Tielemans are highly creative. But Vitor Pereira will work particularly hard to restrict their play.

Goalie Martinez is a fine pick if you can still afford him.

Cash, Konsa and Mings are, however, the players that, although they are unspectacular choices, can help you win your fantasy football contest.

Braga vs. Freiburg

Braga, the Portuguese team, is always forced to live in the shadow of the country’s three more famous teams. Winning the Europa League would be vital for its reputation.

This is a very talented, if underrated side. Horta is a player that you absolutely need.

Lagerbielke and Gomez should go straight into your fantasy football team’s defence. Zalazar is the dark horse, the midfielder who can change the game with his vision.

Finally, Czech goalie Hornicek has been excellent throughout the campaign. He should be your first choice.

At the other end, Freiburg’s done well to reach this phase. The team’s the outsider here.

Freiburg looks good in defence, with a goalie and defenders who have good experience between them. The midfield is decent. However, I don’t quite see the attacking edge needed in a game like this.

Players to Avoid for the UEL Fantasy Football

Forest may have a chance against Ortega in goal and Morato. However, I think that your defence has stronger options than that.

Wood is also set to return. I’m a fan of the striker. But I think that his recent injury means that you can avoid him for now.

Aston Villa’s Maatsen and Bogarde will likely start. Both are fine players, but I see better options elsewhere.
