It’s always nice to be in that stage of the UCL where (nearly) every team could win the trophy outright. Ahead of the Quarterfinals, it finally begins to feel like you’re watching Europe’s finest footballers all in one place, doesn’t it?

But choosing between the very best footballers isn’t easy!

Looking to win your fantasy football event? Here is how I think you can do it. These are my recommended fantasy football Champions League picks.

These Are the Players You Need for the Champions League Fantasy Football

The Essential Picks

Follow the favourites! That’s often a good idea for picking your fantasy football team.

This Tuesday, despite a recent humbling at Southampton, this strategy brings us to Arsenal. The Gunners are playing Sporting, arguably the least-touted of the teams still left in the competition.

Who looks like a good pick in my book? Sure, Gyokeres is playing against his former team and has done well recently. Madueke may also surprise many with a good performance here.

Arsenal has personnel issues, but defenders White, Saliba and Calafiori can bring in the points if Raya manages a clean sheet. Rice and Odegaard, whenever fit, deserve to be contenders for your starting eleven.

Don’t believe the hype! In my book, Real Madrid, playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, is the real favourite in the clash against Bayern.

Mbappé has flown under the radar. But the stats suggest he’s had a great season. The striker’s worth making some big moves with your budget.

Valverde and Vinícius nearly always come alive in top games. Picking Rüdiger is a must.

However, also take note of younger players who are free in FootballCoin. Huijsen, Carreras and even Pitarch (if he plays) have the maturity and quality to shine in this game. They’ll make good picks!

The “Might as Well Give Them a Shot” Picks

Barcelona vs. Atletico is an odd one. Both have looked very good attacking in the UCL. Both have struggled to defend. And Atleti’s season hinges on Diego Simeone‘s side producing something special in this competition.

This is why I think either Lookman or Alvarez could be your successful, surprise pick. Griezmann, who is soon to leave La Liga, looks set to perform in this one.

And, I think that Ruggeri, Koke and Le Normand can play pivotal roles in this clash. Oblak should be fit again and could be your goalkeeper pick this time.

Sure, Barca has the flashy youngsters. Yamal should always be picked when you can make that choice. Pedri and Garcia are good choices.

However, I have my doubts about the central defenders and attackers.

The “I’m Desperate for a Miracle” Picks

Sporting’s done well to reach the Quarterfinals. And, while qualification against Arsenal would be surprising, the Portuguese still have a few great players who can shine in front of a home crowd.

Suarez is viewed as the heir to Gyokeres. Inacio, Hjulmand and Araujo have done well throughout the UCL campaign. Furthermore, they’re free picks in FootballCoin!

Meanwhile, I usually start my Tips & Tricks articles by recommending that you load up on Liverpool players. However, Arne Slot‘s team has been in a real rut lately. Playing Paris-Saint Germain, the previous year’s champions, should only make it worse, right?

No, I think Liverpool of old can still show up to this game. However, approach the picks with more caution. Van Dijk should be in, even though he played poorly against Manchester City. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch should be in. And, this time, even Salah, looking to defend his legacy, can be a good choice.

PSG, on the other hand, are a more settled side. However, recent results proved that they can be defeated. I think that Doue and Pacho are excellent fantasy football picks!

Choosing Marquinhos and Hakimi carries a degree of risk. Vitinha and Neves should be in based on their passing stats alone. And, I am a big fan of Dembele and Kvaratskhelia, but their fitness issues should, just as well, give us reason for concern.

The Players You Should Avoid for the Quarterfinals First Leg

I’m not convinced by Arsenal’s Martinelli, even if his speed will come in handy against Sporting. Raya is always a little too error-prone for my taste.

Lewandowski is Barcelona’s key player against Atletico. However, I think that Simeone’s defenders have enough to keep him quiet. Not convinced about Fermin and Rashford for this either.

Meanwhile, Kounde is also error-prone, as have been Cubarsi and Martin on occasion. Cancelo has potential, but seems a little out of his depth at this stage of his career, in my opinion.

I back Liverpool to perform well. However, Mamardashvili may find life difficult against PSG’s attackers. Konate‘s form is flipping. Kerkez and Frimpong have done little to prove their ability to play at this level. Wirtz, McAllister and Ekitike are occasionally brilliant, but often disappear entirely from the game.

PSG’s got the strongest squad of any team in the competition. But the goalkeeper position keeps being an issue. Safonov doesn’t get my approval this time.

Also, keep track of injuries and suspensions! Atletico’s Pubill and Barrios are out, with Cardoso and Mendoza likely to be unavailable. However, that’s nothing compared to Barcelona’s absentee list, which includes Araujo, Bernal, Raphinha, de Jong, ter Stegen and Christensen.

Arsenal will be without Eze and Merino, while Sporting can’t rely on Guilherme and Ioannidis.

Real Madrid’s got long-term injuries to contend with, including Mendy, Courtois, Rodrygo and Ceballos.

PSG will be without Mayulu, Barcola and Ruiz. And Liverpool’s injury list includes Alisson, Bradley and Endo.
