My GW4 Fantasy Football Squad Reveal

I feel bad for Ligue 1 teams and their relative financial distress. Teams like Monaco and Marseille have had to sell many of their top talent. However, I”ve been impressed with their resilience, especially, when it comes to working the transfer market.

This means that there are many interesting and underrated player cards from which to choose ahead of GW4. The Pro model scoring system should be kept in mind, of course, when making these decisions.

I still think that a 5-4-1 system is the best. Here are the players that I’m choosing for my team. Feel free to copy and edit as much as you like.

Position Player Name Club Card Tier Why Included for GW4
GK Yehvan Diouf Nice 2★ – Free w/ lease Better than recent results suggests. GW4 fixture could help provide a clean sheet
DEF 1 Diego Copolla FC Paris 2★ – Free w/ lease Early signs suggest a strong season for both Paris FC and defender Copolla
DEF 2 Achraf Hakimi PSG 5★ Hakimi has been one of the top wing-backs in the world for a while. This is unlikely to change
DEF 3 Nazinho Monaco 1★ – Free Nazinho has proven to be a smart, sensible transfer for AS Monaco
DEF 4 Youssouf Ndayishimiye Nice 2★ – Free w/ lease Starting to show potential. Could play well against lowly Auxerre
DEF 5 Ismael Ganiou Lens 2★ – Free w/ lease Hard to see Lens reaching the heights of last season. However, youngster Ganiou is likely to make a name for himself
MID 1 Branco van den Boomen Angers 2★ – Free w/ lease Strong midfielder making a new start for his career in Ligue 1. Smart choice
MID 2 Vitinha PSG 5★ Consistently exceptional. Vitinha is a luxury player that you should make room for
MID 3 Ilan Kebbal Paris FC 2★ – Free w/ lease Aggressively attacking midfielder with a knack for providing assists
MID 4 Kamory Doumbia Brest 5★ Attacking midfielder enjoying a breakout season. Has scored 4 goals in 3 matches
FW Florian Thauvin Lens 2★ – Free w/ lease Consistent, underrated performer who could play really well against Le Mans
AM Hugo Lloris Retired AM 5★ Brings 15 points to your automatically because of 5* ranking

My 3 Must-Have “Sleeper Picks” for GW4

Talbi Montassar (Dependablre Defender – Yes, not the most exciting choice, however, his tackling and ability in the air make him the kind of defender to have on your list when your fantasy team is one man short

Eric Dier (AS Monaco) – Other veteran stars have failed at AS Monaco. Dier has just gotten better with every performance and has earned the respect of the team’s supporters. The former England international is always a strong midfield alternative

Ferran Torres (PSG) – Moving to PSG was always going to be a risky move, but, so far, the scorer of the winning World Cup goal, has been establishing himself as an important player for the Ligue 1 and Champions League winners
