Premier League fantasy football is a source of entertainment for millions of football enthusiasts across the world. Why are so many people obsessed with their make-believe EPL teams?

Maybe it’s because games like FootballCoin give them the opportunity to take the reins of a Premier League side, handle recruitment and tactics.

This is certainly a game that requires a high level of skill. How many of the following players did you have in your side? This is the Premier League Team of the Season for the 2024/2025 campaign.

The 2024/2025 English Premier League Team of the Season

Goalkeeper

Mark Flekken (Brentford)

Mark Flekken‘s inclusion in the TOTS is one more proof of Brentford’s sensible, wise transfer policy. In 2023, the Dutch goalkeeper was still representing Freiburg. While that wasn’t a bad career path, turning into a goalie capable of putting up better stats than Ederson or Alisson Becker is slightly more impressive, I think.

Defenders

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

Virgil van Dijk is the leader and on-field inspiration for this Liverpool side. But, as this season has proven, he also remains one of the best central defenders in the world. Still incredibly capable on the ball and nearly impossible to dribble past, van Dijk contributed wonderfully to Liverpool’s title success under Arne Slot.

Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City)

If you don’t count some of the surprising defeats, it’s been a pretty uneventful season for Manchester City. That’s why the fact that Josko Gvardiol makes the cut here proves that the Croatian defender has likely been the club’s best signing in years, and that includes Halaland Marmoush.

Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolverhampton)

Many had praised Rayan Ait-Nouri’s talent in the past. But this was the season that he finally delivered on those promises, with a fantastic run of form between March and April, and 7 assists and 4 goals scored along the way. Ait-Nouri is poised to become one of the league’s finest wing-backs.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Talking about wing-backs, the best in the Premier League is departing for the ever-alluring Real Madrid. But he makes one more appearance on FootballCoin’s EPL Team of the Season. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been among the game’s best players since the FootballCoin game began, and there might just be more on the way.

Midfielders

Cole Palmer (Chelsea FC)

At times, Cole Palmer was absolutely sensational this season. His highlight reel is stunning. And his lack of concern or anxiety has made him something of a modern icon. How else to cap up such a great campaign than by becoming the best EPL midfielder in FootballCoin, in the EPL for the 2024/25 season?

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

If there’s one thing that consistently works in this Manchester United side, it is Bruno Fernandes‘ imagination and grit. Once more, the Portuguese was by far the team’s finest player and an easy to make addition to the TOTS.

Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea)

Enzo Fernandez is another player on whom Chelsea spent big and who has finally shown his absolute best. A tough defensive midfielder who also possesses the ability to thread through incredible passes, Fernandez is one of the best midfielders in the world right now.

Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Declan Rice is bound to become an Arsenal legend with or without a major trophy to his name. Rice’s performances make Mikel Arteta’s tactics tick, and the price tag stamped on his transfer suddenly looks sensible and justified.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Mohamed Salah earned the Golden Boot, the title for Liverpool and a new contract. And he’s done it all by dazzling audiences, especially during the first part of the season. The Egyptian player is still at his best, and he is bound to be considered one of the Premier League era’s very best players.

Bryan Mbuemo (Brentford) premier league fantasy football

Bryan Mbuemo (Brentford)

Brentford is a team that can lose players to other, richer clubs. But they always find a way to replace them. In 2024/25, Mbuemo stepped up and began delivering the goals for Thomas Frank’s team. Sure, Mbuemo had put in strong performances before. But it’s this new level of confidence and commitment that has made him a target for teams like Manchester United. Regardless of what happens, Mbuemo’s goals will live in the memory of Brentford supporters for a long time.
