Serie A Gameweek 18 – fantasy football review

Eduard Bănulescu

Gameweek 18 of Serie A has brought Inter, Napoli and AS Rome closer to securing their objectives. It’s also brought AC Milan, and Atalanta crashing back to the ground. Things have been just as entertaining in fantacalcio.

Here are the players that have impressed in FootballCoin. Consider these players for your next fantasy football draft.

Inter’s nearly impossible squad

Everyone that predicted a collapse for last year’s Scudetto winners was hasty. In spite of losing Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, and Antonio Conte in the summer, Inter Milan remains the team to beat.

The 5-0 victory to the last-placed team, Salernitana, may not seem like a big deal. However, the consistency of their top players and traditional substitutes speaks volumes.

Denzel Dumfries put in an impressive performance and collected 46.2 points. Only Empoli’s Peter Stojonavic managed more as a defender in FootballCoin fanta. Dumfries scored one and announces himself as one of the best wing-backs in the world.

Hakan Calhanoglu was, again, the best midfielder in all of Serie A. He earned 63.5 points after providing two assists. And, Ivan Perisic showed off his tremendous skill. His one goal, and great performance, earned him 34.55 points. Inter Milan remains the favorite for this year’s Scudetto.

Lozano and Elmas prove Napoli’s squad depth

Some have criticized Napoli for the lack of options on the bench. The recent injury crisis has stretched the squad to its limits. The 1-0 victory over AC Milan goes to prove that the Pertnopei have some fight in them even without some of their most famous players.

Elif Elmas was among those picking the slack. The winger scored Napoli’s goal. He earned 33.3 points. Elmas has shown that he can be a strong alternative for Lorenzo Insigne.

Elsewhere, Irving Lozano earned a respectable 22.95 points. The player has been deputized as a right-winger at times this season. He’s performed well.

Tammy Abraham gives hope to English youngsters

Tammy Abraham is another play that was prematurely written off. AS Roma dished out nearly €45M for the former Chelsea striker. The deal is working out well.

AS Roma’s performance this season has oscilated. However, Tammy Abraham has been consistently on good form. It’s helped that manager Jose Mourinho has not hidden his admiration for the player.

Abraham scored two goals away to Atalanta. It ended 4-1 for the Giallorossi. This may have been a slightly lucky victory. It is one, though, that helps settle the waters in Rome. It also rightfully helps Tammy Abraham’s reputation grow.
