Erling Haaland is using every opportunity to prove himself. The teenager scored twice for RB Salzburg in what was only his third UCL match. Here’s how Haaland fared and who the other stars of last night’s Champions League were.

Haaland sets new record and sparks Manchester United interest

While some were quick to judge Haaland’s maiden Champions League display as an accident (he scored a hat-trick on his debut), his subsequent performances seem to have shown his true potential.

The young Norwegian scored twice last night, against Serie A vice-champ.ions, Napoli. It was not enough to save RB Salzburg from defeat however. Dries Mertens scored twice and provided an assist in a 3-2 victory for the Italians.

In FootballCoin, Erling Haaland has scored 38.40 points, while Dries Mertens has managed a whopping 43.6 points. Props also go out to Yaroslav Rakitskiy who managed 51 points in a towering display for Zenit St. Petersburg.

Haaland is being monitored by many of Europe’s top clubs. It seems though that no other organisation is quite as interested as Manchester United. The Old Trafford side is in the market for a strong number nine following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter this summer.

Chamberlain, Salah and Mane score for reigning champions, Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is proving to be a tough to please manager. At least this was the impression reporters got last night. The German tactician was asked about his impression of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s performance in light of the Englishman’s two goals in the match against Belgium champions Genk. Chamberlain may be returning from injury, but Klopp says that he believes the midfielder still has more to offer before he reaches his full potential.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane also got off the mark for Liverpool, with a little help from Brazilian colleague Roberto Firmino. Fans of the Reds will feel confident after witnessing their famous trio once again run rugged Europe’s defenses.
