My UCL G1 Fantasy Football Team Reveal
I think that the modern format of the UCL lends itself well to fantasy football. It’s not hard to find undervalued cards. It’s not difficult to imagine that some surprises are going to occur.
I’m playing a 4-4-2. Here’s my mix of affordable cards and proven talent.

Highlighted Games and Players to Watch
Real Madrid – Internazionale Milano
Will Real panic after Jose Mourinho’s first defeat since his return to Madrid? Will Inter continue to keep calm and motivated under strain?
Those are valid questions. But if you ask me, a draw involving goals seems like the most likely scenario here.
Most are luxury players here. However, I see Inter’s Andy Diouf as a real gem of a pick. Diomande, who may get a chance to impress, is also someone to keep on your radar.
In terms of luxury players, of course, there’s no way to look past Mbappe and Martinez, along with Courtois, possibly the top goalie in the world.
FC Porto – Manchester City
This is a game that, I think, could provide one of the first surprises of this UCL season. The brand-new Manchester City does not look like an improved side. Meanwhile, Francesco Farioli’s FC Porto are an organised and hungry team.
I like William Gomes and Gabri Veiga. Jan Bednarek has staked his claim in the blue and white shirt.
Meanwhile, City is a team still finding itself. However, that doesn’t mean that you should forget about Erling Haaland, the top striker in the world in my estimation.
Napoli – Arsenal
A new season and an early UCL campaign derby? Sure! But, perhaps, not a game between even opponents. Arsenal has maintained the level it showed last season, while Napoli seems a little wobbly since the departure of manager Antonio Conte.
Still, I predict that the usual suspects will make an appearance in this one. Napoli’s Anguissa and Lobotka are worth including. Santos is a player that you should watch throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Odegaard and Saka are back to full form. Zubimendi has integrated nicely into the squad. And Tzolis could really relish an opportunity to wear Arsenal’s jersey in the UCL.
FC Barcelona – Feyenoord
On the surface, this looks like the kind of game that Barcelona should be winning easily. Sometimes things that appear to be a certain way really are that way.
There are plenty of Barca players worth picking because of this. My top pick is youngster Espart because of his form and the fact that he’s free to pick in FootballCoin. Meanwhile, Raphinha and Yamal may be luxury players, but they’re the kind that can really score points in Gameweek 1.
Chances of an upset? If that does happen, Feyernoord’s goalie Ernst will come through with a great performance. Might be worth taking a chance on him.
