My GW6 Fantasy Squad Reveal
In some ways, Serie A is more exciting than it has been in a long time. I suppose you have 6-7 really strong teams that could, technically, mount a challenge for the Scudetto. You also have teams with big dreams and plenty of potential fighting to avoid relegation to Serie B.
I’m looking for budget-saving deals ahead of Round 6. And I’m playing a 5-4-1 formation this time.
| Position | Player Name | Club | Card Tier | Why Included for GW6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GK | Elia Caprile | Cagliari | 2★ – Free w/ lease | Has been a strong performer for years. Caprile can keep a clean sheet against Juve |
| DEF 1 | Alex Jimenez | Fiorentina | 2★ – Free w/ lease | La Viola is recovering while Genoa will struggle to score against their defence |
| DEF 2 | Ze Pedro | Cagliari | 2★ – Free w/ lease | Has played everywhere, but rarely this well. Can perform against a limping Juventus |
| DEF 3 | Josip Sutalo | Lazio | 2★ – Free w/ lease | I like Sutalo in this match against Monza |
| DEF 4 | Juan Rodriguez | Cagliari | 2★ – Free w/ lease | Rodriguez is one of the players responsible for Cagliari’s strong season |
| DEF 5 | Amir Rrahmani | Napoli | 5★ | One of Napoli’s only consistent performers. I see him doing well |
| MID 1 | Billy Gilmour | Napoli | 2★ – Free w/ lease | A wave of injuries gave the Scottish midfielder his opportunity. He’s taken in and improving |
| MID 2 | Andy Diouf | Inter | 2★ – Free w/ lease | No longer a secret, no longer an uncertainty. Good fixture against Parma |
| MID 3 | Manu Kone | AS Roma | 3★ | Able to concentrate and rise to the occasion, Kone’s abilities will really be challenged against Como |
| MID 4 | Luka Modric | AC Milan | 5★ | Muscle memory and ambition will kick in after those England defeats |
| FW | Gianluca Scamacca | Atalanta | 3★ | Hasn’t had a good season. That’s precisely when he’ll take his opportunities against Venezia |
| AM | Gianluigi Buffon | Retired AM | 5★ | A 5* Assistant Manager is a must-have |
3 Must-Have “Sleeper Picks” for GW6
- Davide Bartesaghi (Hot Shot Young Defender) – Has potential. Can drop out of games. This international break may have been just what he needs
- Curtis Jones (Midfielder Looking for Confirmation of His Skill) – Much was made about this former Liverpool player’s arrival at Internazionale. In recent weeks, his game has finally adapted to the requirements.
- Lorenzo Palmisani (Enthusiastic Shot-stopper) – Palmisani is part of Frosinone’s surprisingly great season. Playing Napoli away will be a real test. Watch out for this keeper because his confidence may just see him through.
