Europa League fantasy football mastery should certainly make your fellow football fans look upon you with a greater degree of respect. These aren’t the kind of winning selection that anyone can make. And, very importantly, the UEL isn’t just the junior partner to the UCL, as has been proven time and time again.

If you’re not yet versed in the kind of teams that play their best football in the Europa League, I have suggestions ready. If you’re looking to impress some of your football hipster friends, I think these will help.

But what do you stand to win? If you play in the free FootballCoin Europa League contest, the answer is “real prizes.” They’ll be delivered into your account as soon as the week’s games are done and results tallied up. Register for the UEL fantasy contest here!

Are These the Players You Need for Europa League Fantasy Football for Round 2?

Just as English teams were known to bring their very best to cup competitions in dreams of playing for a chance at the trophy on ol’ Wembley Stadium, so are mid-tier clubs doing in the Europa League, hoping for an opportunity to star in the final on the Beşiktaş Stadium in Istanbul.

Surprises are part of the course. Surprises make watching the competition worthwhile. And, these unexpected results make us have to learn for future fantasy football selections.

That’s how we know that FCSB (formerly known as Steaua Bucharest) do well against better-ranked teams. And that’s how we know that Darius Olaru and Malcom Edjouma will be able to handle the pressure against BSC Young Boys. Good picks!

Last week’s results also make me want to suggest that you give Panathinaikos’ Anass Zaroury a chance in your squad. He scored a hat-trick against Young Boys. Get him now! Meanwhile, Renato Sanches has found a new lease on football back Greece and should be worth considering as well.

Moving toward evenly matched fixtures, Celtic – Braga is bound to spark some passion on and off the field. And while Braga is a consistent, well-rounded side, Celtic should make the best out of having the likes of Kasper Schmeichel in goal and Callum McGregor as the playmaker. The left winger, Sebastian Tounekti, was disappointing last time around, but is worth keeping tabs on.

Meanwhile, the UEL seems created for teams like Lyon and Salzburg. The French side will be anxious to get revenge for the way in which they were knocked out of the competition the last time around. And Malick Fofana or Adam Krabec are just the up-and-coming players that your team needs. Meanwhile, veteran wing-back Nicolas Tagliafico deserves your consideration whenever you have the opportunity to pick him.

Lastly, I’d expect Danish masters of stats interpreting, FC Midtjylland, to take advantage of Nottingham Forest’s poor form. Keeper Elias Olaffson is a great budget pick. And, you’ll already be familiar with Kevin Mbabu and Philipp Billing, who have integrated nicely in the setup of this attacking, North European team.

Should You Avoid These UEL Players in Round 2?

Alban Lafont, a keeper that I really liked in Ligue 1, is now playing for Panathinaikos. Last week’s performance, however, was shaky, and I suggest looking elsewhere for your shot-stopping needs.

Lyon’s target forward, Martin Satriano, was snatching at chances against Utrecht. And while I think that he’s going to be a star, you might want to avoid picking him this time.

Remember that Villa’s Tyrone Mings and Youri Tielemans, Forest’s Murillo, or Porto’s Luuk de Jong will be missing through injury.

Finally, if you’re looking to save yourself some XFC, you might be able to do better than Fenerbahce’s Ederson, Red Star’s Marko Arnautovic or Lille’s Olivier Giroud. Still, while expensive picks, each of them could use their experience to produce points for your team.
