Thomas Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain’s new coach, has publicly spoken about the players he hopes to bring in to the team prior to the end of the transfer deadline. PSG will be hoping to retain their Ligue 1 title, as well as challenge for the Champions League crown.
Choupo-Moting and Bernat on their way to Paris
You have to hand it to PSG and the club’s continued efforts. Since being taken over by rich, foreign investors, they have done everything in their power to become a Champions League challenging team. They have transferred ever more high-profile players. They have done their best to remain consistent in Ligue 1. Moreover, they have now hired one of the most exciting young managers in football, former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel.

“It’s August 31, it’s very late, I’m not going to lie. We’re trying to get the two players signed, they’re doing their medical tests now. I do not know if others will follow. We’ve been looking for a few weeks for cover for [Edinson] Cavani, the opportunity has come with Maxim, who is a top-level player, who can impact right away when he comes off the bench.”
“With the arrival of Choupo-Moting, it’s a lot of attackers. It can impact [Timothy] Weah’s situation, but at the same time not, because it’s another type of player,” Tuchel has told reporters at a recent press conference.
