Lind, De Ligt, Ajax Amsterdam - Fantasy football Champions League in FootballCoin

Even the most astute fantasy football managers can be forgiven for not seeing this one coming. Real Madrid was humbled last night by a vivacious Ajax Amsterdam. Dortmund didn’t fare much better against impishly efficient Spurs.

Now, is Manchester United the next to go? Have your fantasy FootballCoin team ready for tonight’s contests!

How low can the champions go

In all fairness, Real Madrid’s season has been poor from the word go. It all started with the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, of course. Los Blancos‘ arrogance of thinking hey could easily replace CR7 bared little legitimacy. But, last night things took a turn for the disastrous.

Ajax Amsterdam did more than bounce back from a first leg loss. They dismantled the European Champions, one elegant move at a time. It ended 1-4, an astonishing result by any stretch. Real have the rest of the season to reassess. They are now out of all competitions and starring down the barrel at their poorest season in decades.

 Tottenham put blind optimism aside

Tottenham is the football geeks’ favorite team for obvious reasons. They prize good scouting over large budgets. Potential over reputation. Consistency over short term gain. And, they never win any trophies.

But, now with Harry Kane back from injury, some things are changing. Spurs are learning to be efficient. It’s what Dortmund learned at their expense last night. Tottenham won 1-0. Harry Kane (who else?!) scored the winning goal. The rest of the match had the London side sitting tight in the lead. With an injury-free squad ready for the next phase of UEL, it’s anyone’s guess where Pochettino’s side could stop.

Fantasy Champions League squads for tonight’s games

The FootballCoin fantasy football contests return today with two exciting matches. PSG take on Manchester United. Porto faces AS Roma. Your FootballCoin player cards are your entry ticket. Assemble a great team here and, perhaps, earn yourself some cool XFC prizes.

Manchester United’s trip to Paris is certainly the talk of the town. The former European champions are riding a tall wave. New management has brought with it a change in fortunes in the Premier League. But their good form could not be sustained in European competitions. United lost the first leg and, for once, look like outsiders in the second match-up.

The long list of injuries does little to amp up optimism. Are fantasy managers really ready to bank on the likes of Fred, McTominay or Pereira for the fantasy Champions League? Some certainly will. It is simply how fantasy Champions League contests play out. The precision of their choices will be better-understood tomorrow.

For today, all ye fantasy football devotees, make sure to create your draft and take some of these XFC off FootballCoin’s hands.
