Antonio Conte has spoken about his desire to commit his future to Chelsea. The manager denied rumours he would accept an offer to join Inter Milan. His position at Chelsea is the first managerial job Conte has taken outside of Italy.

Antonio Conte has wasted no time in making an impact in English football. In his first year managing Chelsea he has taken the club top of the league. With a ten point lead ahead of second place Tottenham, Chelsea are strong favorites to win the title.

Despite his success in England, Italian media had reported that Conte was eager for a move back home. The 47-year-old manager was said to have been offered the job of managing Inter Milan. Inter is a team struggling to regain their former glory. The team is currently sixth in Serie A and fighting their way towards a Champions League place for next season.

Conte has played down the rumours and insisted he is looking to secure a legacy at the London club. The manager spoke to the press at the news conference ahead of the game against West Ham.

“Me personally? No, no.I think my situation is very clear. I have a contract with Chelsea. [I am] trying to build something important with the club, for the present, for the future and I think the situation is very clear.”

Furthermore, Conte told the British press of plans to move his family to London in the near future. The manager and press alike predict a long stay at Stamford Bridge.

“I am happy for sure, the only problem for me this season is the family is missing me for sure. My family stayed in Italy and, yeah, I am working for the future, to bring them here and to stay together because for sure the family is missing me, this is true.”

Antonio Conte is currently under a three year deal with Chelsea. The manager talked about plans to remain at the club beyond that period. Conte’s highest profile managerial jobs have been with Juventus and Italy’s national team. With Juventus he won the Italian Scudetto in every season he managed the club (2011 to 2014).

“Every coach when you start working with a new club you hope to stay many years because it means you are working well, you have the possibility to improve your players and team and grow together,” Conte added.

“This season we are doing this, putting in a great foundation for the future. There are a lot of players who won a lot here and the team is transitioning, it is normal for every coach to hope to stay for many years to achieve and reach great results.”

“If you ask me my opinion, I hope to stay and work a lot for this club, to win a lot with this club.I am not worried about my future, I want to work with my players and I trust a lot in my work. We have to continue in this way to work hard and do something important.”

“We are in the right position and we have the chance to continue this way.”
