Champions League fantasy football remains the perfect excuse to create the kind of team roster that would make an oil sheikh or an American billionaire embarrassingly look through their pockets.

But as the group stage approaches its finale, the UCL also becomes noteworthy for the big-name clubs it’s likely to knock out.

Who’s bound to make your team better? And, who are players worth avoiding for now? Here are my tips and tricks that should help you capture some of the best picks.

Are These the Players You Need for Champions League Fantasy Football for Round 7?

Manchester City gets to travel to the Arctic Circle in winter. And, indeed, the game between the Mancunians and Bodo/Glimt is most noteworthy for involving tall Norwegians fighting it out. Haaland is the only name that should truly concern you. Reijnders and Rodri should also be included in your team if you can afford their cards.

There’s a sense that if Real Madrid loses badly to AS Monaco, the whole season can be written off already. Still, players like Mbappe, Vinicius and Guler won’t let this happen. However, I think that there are better options out there. Valverde, on the other hand, is a good pick. I also like Dier, Teze, and Zakaria from the French side.

Internazionale has impressed this season. But the Italians have failed to vanquish giants. That could all well change against a tired-looking Arsenal. I like Mkhitaryan, Barella, Acerbi, and goalie Sommer. They come alive in these kinds of games.

Spring plays PSG at an advantageous stage. Although this could be a closely fought affair, let’s not fool ourselves. Vitinha, Marquinhos, Kvaratskhelia, or Dembele, likely the best player on the planet, are always worth having on your side.

These Are the UCL Players to Avoid in Round 7

Arsenal has been having a great season. But fatigue is setting in. Jesus, Madueke or Zubimendi will likely play against Inter, but I wouldn’t pick them if I were you.

Hard to imagine Tottenham’s players doing enough to save Thomas Frank’s job against Dortmund. Kolo Muani, Simons, or Spence feel like some of the cards that you only choose in fantasy football when there’s simply no other choice available.

Napoli is a great team. Napoli has a great manager. But the Italian champions also have a large number of injuries to worry about and are in the midst of a crisis of faith in Saint Conte. I’d stay off picking Hojlund, Elmas or Spinazzola this time around. Copenhagen has what it takes to wear Napoli out.
