champions league fantasy football who to pick in round 6

By Eduard Bănulescu

Champions League fantasy football is arriving at just the right time – straight in the mid-season drama of some of the continent’s biggest clubs. Great! Entertainment is guaranteed for all! Of course, the managers getting the sack won’t be too cheerful this Christmas, but such is life.

But what does that mean for your team selection? Who should you pick to win your UCL fantasy football contests? Here are my suggestions based on the stats I’ve read and the football I’ve seen.

Once you’re done here, head over to the FootballCoin contest page! Sign up for the Champions League fantasy football contest tonight!

Are These the Players You Need for Champions League Fantasy Football for Round 6?

My advice, at this stage, is to stick with the players likely to bring us points. Injuries and players being rested can easily mess up your team’s points tally if you’re not careful.

FC Barcelona looks good against Eintracht. In fact, Barca looks good enough that Hansi Flick will likely rest some players. Pedri, Yamal, and Lewandowski should be present and make good picks if you can afford them. Martin and Garcia are good budget picks.

Peter Bosz‘s PSV, as I predicted, has been impressive during this UCL season. Can the Dutchmen keep scoring against Atletico? There’s no reason to assume otherwise. Man, Veerman, Saibari, and Til are good budget picks. Meanwhile, I think that Gallagher and Barrios will rise to the occasion regardless of the final result.

I’m excited for Monaco vs. Galatasaray. And although there are many good attacking players like Golovin, Balogun, Yilmaz, or Osimhen available, I think that Bardakci, Sanchez, Salisu, and Teze are even better picks.

I’d also keep Sporting’s Hjulmand and Diomande at the back of my mind as starting eleven alternatives.

And, Marseille’s Aubameyang, Paixao, and Greenwood all look likely to get some goalscoring chances against Union SG.

Meanwhile, many have criticized Thomas Frank’s Tottenham. Still, the team looks strong enough to secure an easy win against Slavia Prague. Vicario could get the clean sheet. That should help Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence, the team’s likely back four defence, to earn additional points here.

Finally, Internazionale vs. Liverpool is the Round 6 derby. Cristian Chivu will have lucked out. I think that this is the perfect time to play the Reds. Dimarco, Barella, Bastoni, Bisseck and, even Martinez are all players worth considering for your fantasy football selection.

These Are the UCL Players to Avoid in Round 6

Real Madrid is the most successful team in the Champions League. However, anyone who suffered through the Madridistas’ display against Celta Vigo will be wary of giving Vinicius Jr. a chance right about this time. Mbappe might be an exception if you’re brave enough.

The story of the round is Salah’s likely final appearance in a Liverpool shirt. This could end in glory, but it likely won’t. There are better options as Salah goes toe-to-toe with Internazionale’s impressive defenders.

Some notable injuries and suspensions for Round 6 include: Trossard, Debast, Alexander-Arnold, Militao, L. Hernandez, Anguissa, De Bruyne, Dier, and John Stones.  Reconsider picking them!
