World Cup fantasy football provides a great opportunity. It allows you to choose an ideal team based on the nationality of your favourite players. And, essentially, it lets you forget about how well a player integrates into a club setup. Naturally, it’s all quite entertaining stuff. But the clock’s ticking!

With only two games remaining before we know which European teams will qualify for the 2026 World Cup, FootballCoin has set up numerous free contests that include international games. Use this invite link to join up!

But which players should you choose? Here are the FootballCoin cards that I think should improve your fantasy football team’s score, and might help you win big, real, instant prizes.

Are These the Players You Need for Your Matchday 9 World Cup Fantasy Football Squad?

Looking for value? Searching for outside challengers for the World Cup trophy? Norway might just fit both those descriptions at the moment.

With such a strong campaign nearly behind them, it’s hard to believe that the Norwegians will loosen their grip as they take on Estonia in Oslo. You’ll find it hard to locate strikers with a better chance of scoring than Erling Haaland or Alexander Sorloth. Oscar Bobb and Antonio Nusa could also play a starting role in this one.

What else does this mean? It means that Italy has to score more goals than the Norwegians against Moldova if they want to retain the faint chance of qualifying directly to the World Cup.

Considering each team’s recent record, players like Mateo Retegui, Riccardo Orsolini, Sandro Tonali, or Mattia Zaccagni may end up playing a big role in this one.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s going to play for one more World Cup tournament. The info has been confirmed by the man himself, if you can believe that. Expect to see him starting for Portugal against the Republic of Ireland. He’s an alright fantasy football choice. However, midfielders Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, and Bernardo Silva might be wiser picks.

In theory, Ukraine could still catch up to France ahead of the end of the qualifying stage. In reality, that’s unlikely to happen. Didier Deschamps should start Kylian Mbappe, Michel Olise. Even N’Golo Kante might be in the starting line-up.

England is already through, but winning against Serbia might be a matter of pride. This should be a rehearsal for the World Cup in which England has, yes, in theory, I think, a good chance of winning.

Should You Avoid These Players Ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers?

There’s just something about how outmatched Norway is against Estonia that suggests things won’t end well for goalkeeper Karl Hein. Defenders Maksim Paskotsi or Michael Schjonning-Larsen could also end up losing fantasy football points if the match descends into a Norwegian scoring frenzy.

It almost goes without saying that Moldova’s defensive players will be put under similar duress. Goalie Cristian Avram will have his work cut out for him.

Let me also point your attention toward the fact that Randal Kolo Muani, Adrien Rabiot and Aurelien Tchouameni are injured for the French. There’s no Moise Kean for Italy this time around. And, Pedro Neto and Pedro Goncalves are out for Portugal.
