premier league fantasy football round 7

Fantasy Football Premier League should be having you scratching your head and looking for clever alternatives right about now. Many of the top clubs are revealing the weaknesses that we’d heard about for months. The teams that we’ve grown accustomed to disappointing us haven’t recovered. And some of the biggest stars are nursing injuries.

What’s a fantasy football manager to do? How do you create a top fantasy squad under these conditions?

I have a few suggestions that, I think, should improve your selection ahead of EPL’s Round 7.

These Are the Players You Need for Fantasy Football in the English Premier League for Round 7

Any surprises on the way? Well, can we still call Manchester United’s failure to win a surprise? Certainly, Sunderland has been more impressive than many would’ve expected. It all means that goalie Robin Roefs is worth a look at. Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele are good picks. Even striker Eliezer Mayenda might get his chance in the Sun.

Manchester City has been uncharacteristically cold and efficient of late. If this carries on for a while longer, Erling Haaland will be one of the players most likely to reap the rewards. He’s still the top pick for attacker for those who can afford it, in my book.

Neither Chelsea nor Liverpool look particularly convincing before their weekend derby. But you can bet on the Reds’ midfielders to move the ball around an awful lot. It means you’ll want to consider Ryan Gravenberch and Alex Mac Allister for your selection. It also means you might want to save yourself some trouble with the attackers.

The six games that have already been played have also presented us with a few players likely to deliver regardless of their team’s fixture. Martin Dubravka has plenty of work to do, but is usually up to the task. Dan Burn has well and truly become Newcastle’s leader.

And, since it’s midfielders who tend to clinch fantasy football leagues and contests, if you’re looking for affordable alternatives, there’s little better these days than Elliot Anderson, Moises Caicedo, or James Garner.

The Players You Need to Avoid in Round 7

I routinely advise you to pick Bruno Fernandes for your fantasy football squad. But after last week’s penalty miss, I cannot, in good conscience, do that. Not even Ruben Amorim is ready to open up his eyes for that.

Liverpool’s players might need a close look over. Mohamed Salah has been playing poorly. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alisson and striker Hugo Ekitike are likely to have picked up injuries against Galatasaray.

Finally, Tottenham’s furious start to the season might have run its course. This Leeds defence is no joke, and the likes of Richarlison and Mohamed Kudus aren’t likely to turn it into one this weekend.
