Brasileiro fantasy football round 24

By Eduard Bănulescu

Brasileiro Serie A fantasy football will have added a number of non-South American fans after the Club World Cup. And it’s unlikely that any of the new fans are unhappy with their choice.

Still, with so many fantastic players around, it’s easy to get confused about who to pick for your fantasy football team. Remember that Cartola has practically been a religion in Brazil for decades.

With this in mind, here are some of the picks that should improve your fantasy football selection in FootballCoin (or the fantasy sports game of your choice) ahead of Round 24.

Here’s where you can register for free for the Brasileirão fantasy contest in FootballCoin and win real prizes.

These Are the Players You Need for Fantasy Football in the Brasileiro Serie A for Round

Team schedules over the Summer months mean that it’s a little hard to interpret the standings at the moment. Some clubs have played three more games than others.

Form, however, does not lie. Flamengo and Palmeiras, somewhat predictably, are the two teams making the most of their fixtures. But they have very different missions in Round 24.

Yes, the mighty Palmeiras takes on Northernners Fortaleza, who after a great previous season, have dipped into an unforeseen relegation battle. Victor Roque is in great shape to score a few goals here and should be an ideal pick. Weverton can keep a clean sheet fairly easily, and the midfield tandem of A. Moreno and L. Evangelista will likely dominate the midfield area.

Meanwhile, Flamengo have the more challenging job against a Vasco da Gama that has, on occasion, performed brilliantly. Those displays haven’t been consistent enough, however, with the star-filled team lying in 15th place.

Girogian de Arrascaeta is one of the league’s best players and an excellent cartola pick. In central defence, L. Ortiz and L. Pereira offer much-needed stability and are worth your consideration.

Meanwhile, Vasco’s P. Coutinho and P. Vegetti seem to come alive in big games. Paulo Henrique, however, has been excellent the entire campaign. The players will likely know that victory against Flamengo will help with the team’s many currently unhappy fans.

The Players You Need to Avoid in Round 20

While I love the city of Fortaleza, I can’t quite bring myself up to recommend many of the players of the city’s main team. Goalkeeper J. Ricardo, in particular, has been having plenty of stinkers lately. If he does play, I suggest you stay away. (However, I am intrigued by what manager Martin Palermo can do to improve the team in the mid-term.)

Speaking of big stars, what’s happening with the league’s brightest, Santos’ Neymar? The good news is that he’s injury-free and has been playing matches on the bounce. The bad news is that this is one of the worst FC Santos teams in decades. Neymar scored a brace against Juventude at the start of August. However, otherwise, he’s an expensive card pick best avoided for now.
