With Premier League sides ready to do battle for the top transfers, one Tottenham player believes the team can move forward by keeping its stars, rather than bringing in new ones.

Dele Alli has been one of Tottenham’s most formidable players this season. The player managed 22 goals for the team and impressed throughout the year. Spurs outperformed all but one Premier League side.

The team certainly has a very talented roster of players. With the season drawing to an end there is plenty of interest from top European clubs. Alli believes Spurs should not sell any of their top players for the moment.

The England international believes that consistency will be key to the team’s success. Mauricio Pochettino’s side ends a second consecutive season in the League’s top three. Furthermore, Spurs are doing all of this with a budget significantly smaller than that of their rivals.

Dele Alli insists he wants to remain at Tottenham

Alli is himself on the radar of many important teams. In the recent past he has addressed the rumors. The midfielder says he wants to continue at the London club. Alli thinks the club can move to even better things. To do that they must keep their players, rather than focus on transferring new ones.

“With the players we have got here, we don’t need to go out and spend loads of money. There is a good bunch of players here. Everyone is determined, everyone works hard and there is a lot of quality in the team – you can see that with the amount of goals we have been scoring.”

Spurs must learn from the past and decsion to sell top players

Alli encourages the players to stay united. Spurs have proven that they have staying power. Manager Pochettino talked about the club’s future project to ensure the club’s growth. Alli believes they can use the momentum of this season to challenge for the title in the next one.

“It is important we stick together, keep working hard and keep improving. We have to take our form from the end of this season into next season and start even stronger.  Then, if we can finish as well as we did this season, we should be OK. It is a great place to be and everyone is determined to work for this manager and for the team, so it is good.”

One of the things Alli insists the team must improve on is their performance in the Champions league. Spurs were unable to move past the group stage of the competition. However, with more experience to their credit, Alli thinks they can enjoy a far better run in the competition.

“It was a disappointing season for us in the Champions League this year but it is a great chance to learn. For a lot of us, it was our first time playing in the Champions League. We need to make sure next season we start the Champions League strongly and get as many points as we can.”
