Arsenal have made changes to their tactical formation in recent games. Manager Arsene Wenger says he is especially happy with the way Mesut Ozil is handling his new duties.
Arsene Wenger decided to try something new with his tactics most likely out of necessity. Arsenal introduced a new 3-4-3 formation which they have used in the team’s last seven games. Central to this tactic is that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez play behind the striker Olivier Giroud. It worked out well for the Gunners who secured an important 4-1 victory against Stoke in the last league game.
Mesut Ozil managed an impressive goal against Stoke. Manager Wenger is happy with the way the player has adapted to the change in tactics. “That is what you want from him. I think that he has blossomed in this position now and overall he enjoys it. I must say, individually when the confidence is high in the team, you see that all the players play well.”
Arsenal have changed things around. Where as only recently fans were calling for the manager’s resignation, the team has won six of their last seven games. Their objective of finishing in the top four seems realistic once more. Arsenal have two more league games against Sunderland and Everton. The team will also get a chance to play for a trophy this season. Wenger’s players take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
“I think this result is a continuity of what we have done during the week. We played well against Man United, we played well at Southampton and again here. So overall, I think we had an exceptional performance, we have a great team spirit and I am very proud of what we did,” says Wenger.
“We have not a lot of recovery because the games come very thick and fast and we just have to maintain the focus and prepare well for the next one.”
