By most starts to the year, we’d already know the Scudetto winners. We’d also have a good idea about the Capocanoniere, the relegated teams, and who was bound to register an assist in just about every game.
Great news! Things have changed! Serie A is a beautiful mess again. What’s that mean for your fantacalcio selection? Headaches! Potential! Excitement!
Here are the players that I think you need for Round 18 of Serie A fantasy football. Make sure, once you’ve digested the information, to head over to the FootballCoin contest page and register your selection. It’s free, and you stand to win big prizes daily (not just once every season – wink-wink!)
These Are the Players You Need for Fantasy Football Serie A (Fantacalcio) for Round 20!
The action gets underway on Saturday! You just about know what you get with Udinese these days – stable mid-table finishes. Pisa, however, is bottom of the league and unpredictable. Oumar Solet, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Nicolo Zaniolo have been consistent performers all season. They’re fine picks! Meanwhile, Simone Castrelli is a bit of a gem. Expect to see him for a bigger team next campaign.
AS Roma is back in exciting form and Bryan Cristante and Paulo Dybala should do well against Sassuolo. Nicolo Pisilli is one to keep an eye out for in the future.
Meanwhile, this Sassuolo side looks safe from the drop and veteran Nemanja Matic is a midfielder you can just automatically think about selecting each week. Armand Lauriente and Andrea Pinamonti can be strong picks, but are unpredictable.
Atalanta looks very exciting at the moment. Nikola Kristovic is a great pick right now! And, if you’re looking for affordable cards, Honest Ahanor and Lorenzo Bernasconi are just what you need.
AC Milan appears to be the big favourite against Fiorentina, but the tide may be turning. Davide Bartesaghi is a must-pick. So are Luka Modric and Rafael Leao if you can afford it. I can’t see a better goalie pick than Mike Maignan if you’re shooting for having a clean sheet stat by the end of Round 20.
Internazionale vs. Napoli could end up being the battle that tips the scales of power.
It’s interesting to see Antonio Conte have to reinvent his squad every week due to injuries. Still, Scott McTominay and Giovanni DiLorenzo are great fantacalcio picks. There’s also a good chance that rookie Luca Marianucci will get a start and could do well.
Finally, when it comes to star players like Federico DiMarco, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Lautaro Martinez, there’s a good reason to pick them if you can afford them.
Let’s not forget about Juventus. The team has what appears to be an easy fixture against Cremonese. This should, technically, mean that Kephren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli, and Kenan Yildiz, the players who have been doing the heavy lifting this campaign, should shine.
Are These the Fantasy Football Serie A Players to Avoid for Round 20?
Still not convinced by Juve’s Jonathan David, though I think things can improve for him later on. I feel similarly about Lois Openda and, even, Weston McKennie, although some would disagree about the latter.
I think we can all agree that we love seeing Jamie Vardy play in Serie A. However, I don’t bank on him scoring a hat-trick against Juventus.
