Fantasy Football Ligue 1 is, frankly, shaping up to be one of the most entertaining fantasy sports events of the year. There is great talent on display, there are goals to admire, and if you’re an OM fan, there are brawls to read about in the gossip columns. It even looks like the future Ballon d’Or may be getting a starring role for the 2025/26 edition.
But how do you win four fantasy football contests? With so much to choose from, I thought we’d narrow it down. Here are my picks for players that you need on your team ahead of Round 3.
Just remember that all of the Ligue 1 games are available in completely free contests in FootballCoin. This is where you register for this weekend’s event and win real prizes.
These Are the Players You Need for Fantasy Football in the Ligue 1 for Round 3
Lens has a strong group of players and, at the moment, enough confidence to dream of top spots come the end of the season. They should be considered the favourites to win against Brest this Friday. However, I can see Kamory Doumbia continuing his goalscoring run against Lens.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are finally shifting into gear. Winning against Toulouse, even if away, should be routine. Bank on Lucas Chevalier to keep a clean sheet. Meanwhile, Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Ousmane Dembele (he’ll likely start) should be overlooked for your fantasy football team, I think.
Olympique Marseille is a combustible unit, but a mighty entertaining one at times. Pierre Emile Hojberg remains wonderfully consistent. Mason Greenwood is not, but he can produce moments of magic in this derby against OL.
And while Lille is readjusting to life without Jonathan David, veteran Olivier Giroud has been in fine form, certainly much better than his time in Los Angeles last season.
The Ligue 1 Players You Need to Avoid in Round 3
Few players have genuinely disappointed. Still, I’d consider Monaco’s Takumi Minamino or Marseille’s Tim Weah to be slightly too expensive to sign/lease. Only pick them if you already have them in your FootballCoin fantasy football roster.
Meanwhile, Guillaume Restes should have plenty of work to do against PSG. But this is a risky proposition when it comes to fantasy football. Perhaps opting for a keeper likely to maintain a clean sheet might be the best option? I think so!
