Players Your Fantasy Team Needs
Ivory Coast – Norway
Norway’s been handed a golden opportunity by this draw. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast’s proved capable of playing against top-notch European sides, in my estimation.
This is a game from which, I think, you should load up on players. The choices are budget-friendly and proven to work.
Norway’s top strikers are back in the starting eleven. Can you really find anyone better than Haaland? You need him!
Sorloth is a top-notch sidekick. I also think that Nusa hasn’t yet brought his best to the tournament.
The stats also support the idea that Odegaard and Berge can dominate the midfield. I like Moller Wolfe for one of the defensive positions.
Ivory Coast, meanwhile, is an interesting mix of grit and flair. I think that Y. Diomande and Diallo can cause troubles to any team in the tournament.
But, if you’re looking for points, the statistics that I’ve seen show that Sangare, Operi, Kessie and G. Doue are the players that you need.
France – Sweden
Shooting fish in a barrel! That’s what you need, ideally, when assembling a winning fantasy football team, I believe.
And, this is precisely what France vs. Sweden should offer us. This is a game between a team that looks destined to reach the final and the North European who look as bemused as the audience about why they’re here in the first place.
The one decision you’ll find yourself making here is whether to invest in France’s attackers or Norway’s. It certainly looks like France has the easier draw.
Mbappe, Dembele and Doue can start for your team. Tchouameni is your team’s secret weapon. Saliba has been sound at the back, and Maignan can keep a clean sheet here.
USA – Bosnia & Herzegovina
Let’s face it, USA is going to win the World Cup! Well, maybe not winning it. But the national team’s growth is undeniable.
I think that your team can certainly benefit from getting Pulisic, Balogun and Tillman fitted into your starting line-up.
It’s the kind of game in which Freeman and Ream can also excel. Both are free picks in FootballCoin!
Veteran Bosnian defender Kolasinac can earn a place in your selection, as well.
Players Worth Having on Your Radar
England – Congo DR
I think that England’s got a brilliant squad, but not a lot of creative ideas. Congo DR is a team that can cause an upset if the players manage to get through the first half.
Kane is a bit of a risk, but still worth picking considering his record. I would stay away from Pickford and Konsa for now. Get Guehi and O’Reilly as they can rack up a lot of points in a game like this.
Bellingham is worth dipping into your budget for. Rashford and Saka might not be.
On the other end, my stats suggest that Masuaku, Mbemba, and Wan-Bissaka can deliver a good performance here. And, of course, Wissa has scored against English Premier League goalkeepers before.
Belgium – Senegal
Neither Belgium nor Senegal looked likely to make it out of the group stage. Now that they’re here, it’s the Africans who appear to have connected better to the pressures of the World Cup, to my mind.
I like Sarr and Mane for this one. Jackson is a very good pick, especially considering his price tag.
Niakhate and Jacobs bring defensive stability.
Belgium hasn’t impressed me. However, I still think Courtois can earn a lot of points here and might as well be your starting goalkeeper.
Vanaken is, finally, proving his doubters wrong. Trossard is showing a lot of heart. The rest of the stars, however, feel a little too unpredictable and overpriced.
Spain – Austria
Spain is slowly working into its regular rhythm. Austria, on the other hand, looks to have achieved the most that it can in a tournament of this magnitude.
Yamal and Oyarzabal should be able to break down the Central European team’s defences. Pedri and Cucurella will be vital here. Even Llorente deserves your attention.
Simon can keep a clean sheet here but might not get much work otherwise.
Meanwhile, I’ve been impressed by Seiwald and Lienhart‘s commitment. They’re good, affordable picks, and if you’re a couple of players short, you might as well consider them.
Budget Picks to Help Flesh Out Your Selection
Mexico – Ecuador
This one’s hard to predict. Mexico’s been thrilling home crowds, but can this form, realistically, last? Meanwhile, Ecuador was one of my dark-horse predictions but has so far disappointed.
If you’re looking for free FootballCoin players, Mexico’s Alvarado, Romo and Reyes should be on your radar.
Meanwhile, Vite and Hincapie are the Ecuadorians worth your consideration for the Round of 32 in fantasy football.
Player Cards You Have to Avoid
Upamecano has looked really shaky when pressed. Kounde and T. Hernandez are other French defenders that I’m not convinced about.
Elanga, Gyokeres, and Isak are all Premier League stars. But will this matter against this ruthless French side? I don’t think that it will.
Koulibaly would’ve been a great defensive pick, but he will likely be out injured for Senegal’s game against Belgium.
Belgium stars like De Bruyne, Doku and, even, Lukaku are a little too expensive and unpredictable. You have better options available.
Rodri‘s speed is a source of concern for those who have Spain as the main contenders for the World Cup trophy.
